Another pleasurable mother and daughter
day that is tradition. Myer Spring Fashion Launch, and it is the
best parade I have been to, to date. The fashion was fantastic with
many fabulous designers. You can tell the gentry of the Australian
Fashion Industry when talking to Yeojin Bae, Leona Edminston and
Jason Brunston. They are not fly by night, yet they have done the
hard yards in the industry to be stayers and showcase their beautiful
garments. Yeojin, Leona and Jason with Matichevski stole the show,
with Matichevski trumping the entire parade with a floor length gown
with embellishment on the hips. This was finished with of course a
Kim Fletcher Millinery. Brilliant in her craft of Millinery.
Phillip Rhodes equally amazing and to have a Master Milliner such as Phillip Rhodes in Myer, Customers you should be taking notice. It is quite rare to have such an amazing talent available to the public in a department store. Phillip Rhodes Millinery is worn by the best in fashion and Jan Breen Burns is always wearing his hats.
This has been my first Melbourne Event
since the passing of my beautiful Paris Kyne, a Master Milliner of 25
Years. Many milliners come and go and seems to be the occupation du
jour although the test of time will show. Paris's work is something
to behold and many of his pieces have not yet really been seen (due
to his brilliance his hats were in the price range of Philip
Treacyand understandably) although during this Spring Racing Carnival
I will be wearing a showcase of his 25 year career including the
tribute to 'Philip Treacy' and the 'Aunty Mame' tribute, not yet
seen.
Again, thank you to Fiona Byrne for her
mindfulness as with others wearing Paris Kyne in respect for his
talent. Fantastic to see Jan Breen Burns with her must read Vox
Frock Blog. A legend of Melbourne and Australian Journalism in
Fashion.
